SALEM, Mass.- While the details of last night’s rescue remain undisclosed, the ripple effects from the event is already being felt throughout America.
The nation rejoiced at the news that star Quidditch player, Tyler Ward had been rescued. Reports about his condition are surprisingly positive from wizarding medical personnel. He is listed as being in “surprisingly good condition, both physically and mentally”. This is certainly a piece of unexpected good news with early estimates have Ward being held in captivity for four years. How he was detained is still a matter of speculation. According to insiders at the Hexagon, his imprisonment was being carried out by remnants of Simon Drake’s forces.
In Ward’s message that was seen nationwide on television sets, he claimed that many of those who were holding him were moles in the Auror Department. While official word has yet to be heard concerning this statement, the Wizarding News Press has received a statement from Chief Auror Tovoretski: “A staggering number of the Auror workforce has been fired. Every one of the released Aurors is either on judicial review or has already been arrested. Our remaining numbers are small but are men and women to be trusted.”
What this will mean to the Auror Department and the wizarding nation will soon be revealed.
On the positive side of this situation, the National Quidditch League has announced a special line of trading cards that will be released tomorrow to help celebrate Tyler Ward’s rescue. There are also rumors flying that Ward will be making a return to Avistrum Academy of Sorcery for the Fall Term which is starting this weekend.
In relation to this, it was reported by an official in Secretary Aberfoyle’s office that this rescue mission was carried out by the Dark Hunters. Knowing the friendship between Tyler Ward and Avistrum’s Headmaster Clark Dowling, was this a ‘one-time deal’ to save a friend, or are we seeing a return to vigilantism? From the disarray that is our Auror Department, one cannot help but see some merit in that possibility.
