The Kensington and Aberfoyle campaigns both released a second round of campaign posters today in their campaigns to succeed Greywolf as Secretary of Magic. The campaign has been thrown into chaos in the wake of Simon Drake’s surprising announcement two weeks ago of a write-in challenge. The two campaigns have thus far refused to issue statements regarding Drake’s announcements. A Morning Oracle reporter asked the two men for comment directly in the Senate chamber on Friday. Aberfoyle’s response was a terse, “no comment.”
Kensington was slightly more forthcoming. “He’s a vile murderer. He shouldn’t be running for Secretary, he should be in Alcatraz.” The two campaigns have also refused so far to allow Drake to participate in their debate, scheduled for April 15th, the evening before the election.
Kensington’s poster continues his motif of traditional values, once again using his campaign slogan “Keeping the Faith.” Aberfoyle’s, in contrast, opts for a more contemporary feel, consistent with his emphasis on progressive politics. The tagline on the poster, “Judgment We Can Trust,” also seems to be a slap at the Kensington camp, as Aberfoyle has continued to hammer Kensington in his stump speech for the latter’s flip-flop over the PRETEND Act in 2007.
